Wound Care

Because Advanced Wounds Need Advanced Care

Hard-to-heal wounds demand advanced care. That's exactly what patients receive at the Advanced Wound Healing Center at Methodist Health. By using the most advanced treatments and sophisticated case management, we help patients with chronic wounds heal faster and improve their quality of life.

Methodist Health's Advanced Wound Healing Center is located on the second floor and is designed for people with chronic, non-healing wounds.

The Advanced Wound Healing Center is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 800 Centers and was recognized nationally with the Center of Distinction award for clinical excellence in 2016 and 2018.

We can help you with:

  • Diabetic Wounds
  • Pressure Ulcers
  • Venous Stasis Ulcers
  • Arterial Ulcers
  • Non-Healing Surgical Wounds
  • Complex Soft Tissue Wounds
  • Infected Wounds
  • Traumatic Wounds
  • Wounds caused by radiation treatment

What is a Non-Healing Wound?

How do you know when you have a non-healing wound that needs advanced care? There are many symptoms to watch out for:

  • A wound that shows no sign of healing after several weeks
  • Pain that gets worse over time
  • Foul smells coming from the wound
  • Redness and swelling around the wound
  • Blue or dark discoloration around the wound
  • Liquid leaking from the wound
  • Wounds that are warm to the touch

The longer a wound stays open, the greater the risk that it will become infected. If you have any symptoms of a non-healing wound, schedule an appointment with a medical professional as soon as possible.
