National Cancer Survivors Day event set for June 2

Methodist Health will host aImage of sombrero and maracas on striped blanked with the words "National Cancer Survivors Day 2019" National Cancer Survivors Day® “Adios to Cancer” event on Sunday, June 2 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Lumber Yard event room, Firedome Pizza & Wings, 512 Barrett Blvd. in Henderson. The international celebration is in its 32nd year.

Co-sponsored by Methodist Health Hematology and Oncology and Firedome Pizza & Wings, the event will include games, door prizes, entertainment and fiesta themed foods.

“Methodist Health and its staff celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day to honor all cancer survivors and to show our community that we are here to support them through cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and survivorship,” said Sarah Smith, MSN, OCN, Oncology Nurse Navigator at Methodist Health.

"We want to raise awareness of Methodist Health's commitment to the wellness of our community, but also to honor and celebrate those living with and beyond cancer and their friends and families who contributed to their survivorship.”
