Employee Profile: Becca Braden

Becca Braden began her career as a Registered Nurse (RN) at Methodist Hospital in Henderson in 2003 after graduating from Henderson Community College. She worked as a staff nurse in the Intensive Care Unit and became a Clinical Coordinator in 2012.

In 2015, she developed the Intravenous Therapy (IV) team while continuing as Clinical Coordinator until 2017 when she became the Hospital’s Vascular Access Nurse. She completed course work through Chamberlain College, earning an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) degree in March 2019. “I wanted to advance my career and be able to care for patients in a more comprehensive way,” said Braden. She currently works in Nursing Administration as an Assistant Director of Nursing, serving as House Supervisor as she transitions into her APRN role.

When asked what she likes most about providing patient care, she commented, “I enjoy being able to provide comfort to patients and family members in difficult times. It’s never easy for anyone to go through an illness. Being there to listen and do what I can to meet their emotional needs as well as their physical needs, is very rewarding to me.”

“This is a good place to work,” Braden continued. “I like being part of a small town community hospital and seeing familiar faces as I go about my day. When I visit any nursing unit, I know the nurses and many of the patients. When I was working as part of the IV team, I was all over the Hospital and now, as House Supervisor, I am, too.”

A native of Webster County, Braden lives in Clay, KY with her four children, ranging in age from 11 to 18.
