Alteon Health providing new Medical Director and ED physicians for Methodist Health

Effective January 1, Methodist Health’s Emergency Department physicians, headed by Brandon Chappell, DO, as Medical Director, are being provided through a contractual agreement with Alteon Health, a physician led medical group providing patient-centered quality care to more than three million patients in hospitals nationwide. Emergency Medicine Associates (EMA) and Island Medical Management (IMM) partnered to form Alteon Health, a physician led medical group based in The Woodlands, Texas, in October 2017.

After completing residency training through Methodist Health’s Osteopathic Family Practice Program in partnership with the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Chappell completed a Fellowship in Emergency Medicine at JacksonMadison County General Hospital, Jackson, Tennessee. He returned to Henderson to practice Emergency Medicine at Methodist Health in August 2017. “I am pleased to be a part of this new venture that will help us look at processes and best practices, and ensure we initiate them here at Methodist Health,” Dr. Chappell said. “Being able to deliver the best possible patient outcomes will continue to be our goal.”

G.W. Thomas, MSN, RN, CEN, Emergency Department Director, noted, “Through our affiliation with Alteon, Methodist Health will be provided with a stable of physicians that have years of experience in similar sized Emergency Departments. We are excited for the change and the new ideas they can bring to help us improve our processes and make for a better ED experience for our patients.”
