New Orthopaedic Unit ribbon-cutting set for January 8 at Methodist Health

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Orthopaedic Unit at Methodist Health will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. The Unit, which will include 10 private patient rooms, is located on the Second Floor of the South Tower near the Women’s Pavilion, 1305 North Elm Street, in Henderson.

Prior to the ribbon-cutting, the ceremony will include remarks from Tony Iriti, CEO of Kyndle; Benny Nolen, President and CEO at Methodist Health; and Dr. Dennis Beck, Department Chair of Physical Medicine at Methodist Health and Orthopaedic Surgeon with Orthopaedic Associates. Refreshments will be served and tours of the space will be given.

“While surgeons from Orthopaedic Associates have already been performing surgeries at Methodist Health, we are excited to now have a Unit dedicated to patients coming to us for joint replacement surgeries,” said Nolen.

Surgeries for patients who will stay on the new Unit are anticipated to begin on Tuesday, January 15. On that date, Methodist Health and Orthopaedic Associates will formally launch a Joint Replacement Program to offer patients the latest advances in knee and hip replacement surgery, including anterior hip replacements.

The Program has been designed to fully support patients through every step of their journey from initial consultation through surgery, rehabilitation and recovery. Amenities on the Unit will include room service, free Wi-Fi, daily group therapy sessions and post-op luncheons with staff.
