Methodist Health re-accredited by KMA

Methodist Health has received a four-year re-accreditation from the Kentucky Medical Association (KMA), which gives Methodist Health approval to hold Category I Continuing Medical Education (CME) at the facility. “The Hospital first became accredited for Category I CME’s in 1996,” said Kelly Edmondson, Certified CME Coordinator, who was on hand for the review along with Dr. Paul Moore, Chairman of the CME Committee and Benny Nolen, President and CEO at Methodist Health.

According to the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure, physicians are required to complete 60 hours of Continuing Medical Education every three years. Methodist Health is able to assist its medical staff in this requirement by holding CME meetings.

Gerald Rightmyer, MD, Methodist Family Medicine, commented, “The convenience of quality CME is very important to me, and that is what we get from our CME program. Medical practice is an ever evolving endeavor, hence the need for continuing education. We have had good local speakers and good speakers from various universities including University of Kentucky, University of Louisville and Vanderbilt University. I always find these programs informative and useful to improve my practice and to help me to be a better source of information to my patients.”
