Charles Futrell, DO, has been in practice and a member of our medical staff since completing
his internship and residency at Methodist Hospital in 2008. He is board-certified
in family medicine and maintains his practice with Methodist Family Medicine
at 110 Third Street, Suite 250, in Henderson.
His interest in science and a strong desire to help people led him to pursue
a medical career. When asked to name the favorite parts of his work with
patients, he said, “I especially enjoy establishing relationships
with patients and their families and encouraging them to make positive
changes in their lives.”
He continued, “Interacting with patients from all walks of life on
a daily basis affords me the opportunity to learn something new from them
virtually every day.”
What makes Methodist Hospital a great place to work? “It is a smaller
organization, which allows for a more personal or familial type of atmosphere
among employees and administration,” Dr. Futrell noted. “Also,
the Hospital administrative staff is interested and receptive to our needs
and concerns when it comes to caring for our patients and our community.
“I am very excited and have high hopes for the future of the Methodist
Hospital organization. I'm optimistic that the affiliation with Deaconess
will help us grow our Hospital and provide services to our community we
were unable to provide in the past.”
Dr. Futrell and his wife, Lisa, have been married for 23 years and have
two children, Caitlynn, 14, and Ian, 7. They enjoy traveling and following
University of Tennessee athletics.
