Robin Bailey named Spirit of Excellence - August 2017, Methodist Hospital
Robin Bailey, Operations/Financial Analyst, Accounting, began her career
with Methodist Hospital on October 4, 1978. She was previously honored
as Employee of Excellence in March 2000 and November 2011.
She began working at the Hospital after high school graduation as a Transporter
for the Radiology Department but soon transferred to Medical Records where
she worked as a Chart Analyst and Certified Medical Transcriptionist until
1988. After two years in Human Resources, she moved to Administration.
In 1990, Bailey served as Assistant Executive Secretary to the Controller/CFO
and in 1993 became Secretary to the Assistant Executive Director/COO.
In 2005, she assumed duties as Administrative Assistant and Data Coordinator
for the Chief Operating Officer. Her title was changed to Operations/Financial
Analyst January 2014 as she took on more responsibilities related to operational projects.
Bailey supports Joy Griffith, Director of Finance/Controller, by providing
operational and financial data benchmarking to the Premier hospital alliance
and for the annual budget. She also coordinates insurance coverage and
renewals for the hospital.
The favorite part of her job, according to Bailey, is the variety involved.
“I like working with data,” she says, “especially the
analytics part. I also like meeting with department directors to see if
there is anything I can do to help them. I love having the opportunity
to meet new people and learn from experience. I hope each person that
I support or work with feels I have treated them with kindness, professionalism,
Comment by her nominator:
“She goes above and beyond by providing excellent customer service
and support in responding to anything that needs to be done. She provides
support above and beyond her job description, what’s on paper. Not
only does she complete her own duties in a timely manner every month,
which sometimes involves working extra hours, she also always offers her
assistance to provide data, research issues or help anyone get duties
down even when it’s not something she is responsible for. After
hours, on weekends and even on her days off she offers her availability
either to come in or to text her to help with any question we may have.
She is much appreciated and very deserving of a Spirit spotlight as she
is a perfect example of teamwork.”
