Dr. Yelton was born in Washington, DC and attended undergraduate college
at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1983 he graduated
from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem,
North Carolina and began his internship at the University of Oklahoma
School of Medicine Department of General Surgery. Dr. Yelton completed
his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at the University
of Oklahoma in 1988.
Dr. Yelton is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has
been a Sports Medicine Consultant in the past for Tennessee Tech University,
Tusculum College, and the University of Southern Indiana. Dr. Yelton treats
the full range of orthopaedic problems, including shoulder, ankle, hip,
knee and sports medicine.
