Methodist Hospital Therapy Services offers a comprehensive Outpatient Program to assist patients in their recovery after illness, injury or a catastrophic event. We offer specialized services in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. Each service is tailored to the specific needs of the patient to enable the maximum recovery possible.Our Therapy Services Department is proud to have Dr. Judith Canlas as its Medical Director. Dr. Canlas is a Physiatrist who treats medical conditions that cause pain or limit function. Physiatry is also called physical and rehabilitative medicine and provides the full continuum of care from diagnosis to treatment and rehabilitation. The goal of the Dr. Canlas and the professional staff of therapists is to restore maximum health and quality of life for the patient without surgery. However, when surgery is necessary, Dr. Canlas and the staff work with patients and their surgeon to develop a treatment and rehabilitation plan that is comprehensive and effective.
Outpatient therapy staff includes licensed and professional physical and occupational therapists, physical therapist assistants and certified occupation therapy assistants, and speech pathologists. These professionals collaborate as a team to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for each patient.
