SUITE 103: Great For Patient Convenience!

Since opening in August of this year, Methodist Hospitals Suite 103 has treated around 500 patients in our anti-coagulation or Coumadin clinic, provided over 3,000 blood draws, and conducted 350 urinalysis screens. This is not too shabby for a facility that was created and
opened within a months time in response to a changing healthcare dynamic in Henderson.

Earlier in the summer, the Heart group announced plans to discontinue anti-coagulation services in Henderson and contacted Methodist Hospital to determine if our organization could absorb their Coumadin patients.

In order to meet the needs of our current coumadin patient load and take on an additional 300 new patients, Methodist Hospital had to do some quick planning. The result was a combination of laboratory, pharmacy services, and home medical equipment in a space nearby, yet removed from the primary hospital facility at 1305 North Elm Street.

The intent of Suite 103 was to bring needed services into a centralized location, increasing accessibility for our patients and their families. laboratory services provided at Suite 103 include a blood drawing station and urinalysis testing. Patients may use this facility to complete physician recommended blood work, pre-admission blood work, and drug screen tests without having to go through the admission process at the hospital. Anti-coagulation or Coumadin patients now have quick and easy access to the clinic, enabling them to make their frequent visits in less time and with decreased hassle.

In the front of Suite 103, Home Medical Equipment has constructed a retail shop featuring a variety of home medical supplies such as grab bars, blood pressure units, bath chairs, walker accessories, diabetic socks, and many personal care items related to home bound and bed bound patient needs. HME continues to provide larger medical supplies at its 426 North Elm Street store.
