Chaplaincy

...and the God of every comfort who comforts us in every trouble, so that we may also be able to comfort those who are in any kind of trouble or distress, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God...2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Methodist Hospital is committed to providing the finest healing skill, compassion, and respect for patients and their families. This commitment extends to fostering a spiritual environment as an integrated part of the quality health care services of Methodist Hospital. The Healthcare Chaplain is an integral part of any healthcare team. Individuals who are sick, their family members, and healthcare workers often seek the guidance and support of the Chaplaincy program at Methodist.
The Chaplains provide a listening and concerned ear, and a Chaplains pastoral perspective to patients and families during times of crisis, pain, and loss. Our chaplains are here to provide counsel to staff members during times of personal and professional needs. The chaplains are ready to serve as pastors to those churched or unchurched, offering religious resources, guidance, and support to persons in times of stress and crisis. Maintaining confidentiality, being available, and offering genuine concern characterize the ministries of the Department of Chaplaincy Services to all Hospital personnel.
The Methodist Hospital Chaplaincy Program is the liaison for local clergy and for the community-at-large. Chaplains are on the front lines providing pastoral care until the patients own minister can arrive. Methodist Hospital Chaplain office hours are 8:00 am 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Chaplains are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week via the Hospital Operator.
