Methodist Hospital has an on-site digital image-enhanced lab which is equipped for cardiac catheterization, pacemaker implantation, and insertion of IABP catheters.

Case Management

Methodist Hospital has a team of social workers and RN case managers assigned to each patient care area and the Emergency Department to help patients and family members deal with financial, social and emotional problems that relate to illness or hospitalization. Members of this department are also involved in assisting you with accessing healthcare services you may need at discharge such as equipment, arranging any extended care needs such as home care or long term care, and/or answering insurance coverage questions. Chaplaincy

Chaplains:
Our chaplains are available to provide emotional and pastoral support to patients and visitors. They are also available to support the pastoral ministries of local clergy and will be pleased to make contact with them on behalf of patients. Chaplains David Latham and Mary Wrye may be contacted by calling 7513 or by informing your nurse.

Chapel:
Located on the Ground Floor is the hospital's Chapel which is open at all times for private prayer or simple quiet. Special chapel services are announced to all patients and visitors.

Religious Television Programming:
Patient Television Channel 4 continuously broadcasts comforting spiritual programming of scriptural reading and peaceful music.

Gideon Bibles:
New Testaments and Psalms are provided in every patient's room. Should there not be one in your room contact the Chaplain's Office, 7513.

Child Care Center

Methodist Hospital's Child Care Center opened in 1983 and, at that time, was the first hospital-affiliated child care facility in the region. Now located in a newly constructed, state-of-the-art facility on the Henderson campus, the Child Care Center provides quality care and educational development activities for 90 pre-school children of employees. In addition to the highly qualified paid staff, the Child Care Center has volunteer "Cuddlers" in the infant and toddler rooms on a regular basis.

Continuity Care Clinic

The Continuity Care Clinic is a family physician office atmosphere that allows residents to see and treat patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, etc. while completing the requirements of the PCSOM/Methodist Hospital Family Practice Osteopathic Residency Program. The Clinic hours are by appointment on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Patients are seen by appointment only.

Dietary Department

A Nutrition Hostess assist patients during their stay at Methodist Hospital. The hostess will assist with menu choices, deliver trays to patients and answer questions regarding their diet. The Nutrition Hostess works closely with the staff dietitians to ensure that patient's requests are met with their personal dietary restrictions.

Methodist Hospital Cafeteria is open from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. A wide variety of foods are available. Hot Foods, Salad bar, Specialty sandwiches and salads, Grab and Go items, and made to order grill items are offered throughout the day.

The Dietary Department provides individual dietary consultations for in patients and out patients. Your physician must write a prescription order before a consultation can be given. Charges will apply. Please check with your insurance company regarding payment for these services. On the day of appointment, you need to register at the Admissions Office before meeting with the dietitian. Please call 827-7546 to schedule your appointment.

Emergency Room

The newly enlarged and renovated Emergency Room at Methodist Hospital provides 24-hour physician coverage for medical emergencies. Among the many new additions are 2 new trauma rooms with x-ray capabilities, specially equipped rooms for cardiac monitoring, orthopedics, ear/nose/throat, obstetric/gynecology, psychiatric evaluation and a room equipped to provide negative pressure to protect patients, visitors and employees from airborne pathogens.

The Foundation works in partnership with Methodist Hospital to raise funds for the hospital and its affiliated facilities. The Intensive Care Unit is a modern, 16-bed unit equipped with full bedside monitoring, and located on the second floor of the hospital's North Tower.

Laboratory

The clinical laboratory is approved by the College of American Pathologists, providing 24-hour services in the following areas: Blood Bank, Chemistry, Microbiology, Coagulation, Hematology, Serology, Special Chemistry, Pathology and Urinalysis.

Methodist Hospital Rehabilitation Center is dedicated to treating any patient, without regard to race, creed, sex, handicap or method of payment, with respect, compassion, understanding, responsiveness, confidentially and with attention to all details. Comprehensive interdisciplinary services are provided to our patients 7 days a week, based upon their needs and preferences. This service is a CARF accredited 24-bed comprehensive integrated inpatient physical rehabilitation programs for adults, and is Medicare/Medicaid certified.

Obstetrics-Gynecology

Methodist Hospital is proud to offer family-centered maternity care in its 20-bed OB/GYN unit. Additionally, this unit has four combination labor/delivery/recovery rooms, 1 Operating Room and 2 recovery rooms. The 12-bed Newborn Nursery is available for healthy babies, while a newly renovated and expanded 15-bed Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, staffed by an in-house neonatologist, is available for babies needing special care.

Pediatrics

Methodist Hospital has a tradition of providing quality care for the region's pediatric population in a loving, nurturing environment. The Pediatric unit provides care for pediatric patients up to 16 years of age in the 12-bed Pediatrics Unit.

Radiology

Diagnostic radiology services offered range from general radiologic testing to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine Testing, (including mobile PET/CT imaging), Ultrasound (General and Vascular), Computerized Tomography (CT) Special Procedures, and Vascular Lab. Women's Center services include mammography in an ACR accredited, FDA certified facility, needle aspiration breast biopsy, and bone density studies.

Surgical Services

In and Outpatient surgeries and diagnostic procedures at Methodist Hospital are performed in one of five operating suites, a urological procedures room, two endoscopic rooms, a bronchoscopy room and a minor surgery suite. Methodist Hospital provides anesthesia services by board-certified anesthesiologists.

Telemetry

Methodist Hospital provides a 25-bed telemetry unit located on the third floor of the North Tower. This unit provides patients with quality care in a therapeutic setting. Many of the rooms in the Telemetry Unit feature lovely views of the Ohio River and provide private room accommodations.

Our Therapy Services staff provides Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech/Language, Pathology and Sports Medicine Services on an in-patient and out-patient basis.

Volunteer Services

The Department of Volunteer Services at Methodist Hospital exits to recruit, promote and maintain a volunteer program to support all service areas of the hospital. Volunteer Services follows all state, federal and Joint Commission guidelines for utilizing volunteers within a healthcare organization. Volunteers actively serve the needs of Methodist Hospital across all departments including, but not limited to, the Gift Shop, Child Care, ICU Waiting Room, assisting the lab with free cholesterol screenings, and staffing the Information Desk.
