This class is intended for hospital employees and medical professionals. This class consists of two parts: Immersive on-line training and skills competency using voice assisted manikins.

    • Basic Microsoft Excel I
      This course is offered on two consecutive Tuesday morning sessions or two consecutive Thursday afternoon sessions. An introduction to Excel, Microsoft's spreadsheet program, this course is suitable for individuals who have little or no experience. This course is a version neutral and can be applied to Excel 2010 and ealier. Topics covered include: Basic idea of spreadsheet, creating, saving, and opening spreadsheets, navigating around a spreadsheet, entering data into a spreadsheet, how to enter simple formulas, inserting, deleting and moving information, creating a simple chart. Participants will be expected to practice between sessions. Teaching style is one of understanding.
    • Cooper Clayton Smoking Cessation (Employee)
      The Cooper/Clayton Method of Smoking Cessation Program is for any smoker wanting to become a non-smoker using behavioral modification, nicotine replacement, and nicotine reduction. This is a 13 week series. Meets every Tuesday from 12-12:30 PM. Dates: 1/10/12 - 4/3/12 Will be located in Classroom #3.

    • Empowering Caregivers Who Are Making the Difficult Decisions
      Viki will discuss how to identify the decision making pathway and 4 tools for making decisions, based on the needs and values of the person. She will explain when to use which decision making tools depending on the person’s level of incapacity and the situation. Finally she wants you to recognize your role when making quality of life decisions for someone who can no longer speak for themselves.

Prerequisite: Introduction to Excel or have used similiar spreadsheet programs. Topics covered will include: Naming ranges, using those strangely named formulas, pivot tables, moving and copying worksheets, using multiple worksheets, conditional formatting, and data. Teaching style is one of understanding. Participants will be expected to practice and expand upon skills between sessions.

      For MH Employees only. NIMS is a structured framework used nationwide for both governmental and non-governmental agencies to repsond to natural disasters and terrorist attacks at the local, state, and federal levels of government. Methodist Employees are required by TJC to be NIMS compliant.

      A program for anyone to become a non-smoker by using behavioral modification, nicotine replacement, and nicotine reduction. Participant is responsible for cost of Nicotine Replacement and course book $5.00. Classes consist of 12 one-hour, weekly sessions followed by relapse prevention.
